Disney Cruise Line – Planning for the pre cruise stay

Once you have booked a trip on the Disney Cruise Line, it’s time for my favorite part of any vacation, the planning. You have three aspects of your vacation you need to plan in advance to be ready to travel; pre-cruise, cruise, and then post-cruise. All three aspects of your vacation on the Disney Cruise Line should be well planned out and we will look at them now.

An important part of any cruise, this would go from your home till you board the ship. The first leg of any trip on the Disney Cruise Line is always how you get to the airport, and I’m no help to you there. My only flight advice is direct flights rock and I love Southwest Airlines when I travel. Once you land you look at what you do from when you land until you get to the port. I also recommend you fly in a day early, so if there are any flight delays, you don’t miss the boat.

For those going on a trip on the Disney Cruise Line out of Florida I recommend staying at the Hyatt in the airport. It is very nice that when you land, you get your luggage and then get your room. You can get food in the airport and then get ready for your cruise. The next morning you set your bags outside the room; the Hyatt staff picks them up and Disney delivers them to your stateroom. If you are taking the Magical Express to the port, in the morning you go down to the Magical Express check-in and they assign you to a boarding group, and you’re likely to get in the first or second boarding group.

You also have the option of playing at Disney World before your trip, then taking the Magical Express Bus to Port Canaveral. Just make sure you included transfers when you booked your Disney Cruise Line trip. I have done this as well and stayed with my Disney Vacation Club points. Once the bus takes you to the port you unload and wait for your boarding group to be called. This is a good time to enroll your children in the children’s activities and get them their ID bracelet.

Next, we will look at the Disney Cruise itself. You will enjoy your trip on the Disney Cruise Line.
