Cafe Orleans is situated between The Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square section. It is a great Table Service restaurant where you can reserve a table inside or be seated outdoors with a view of the other park guests as they make their way around the park. While inside is decorated nicely, our family found that the outdoor seating is the best place to sit.
Like other Disneyland restaurants the menu of Cafe Orleans is also limited but delicious. It is wise to make a reservation before your visit to Cafe Orleans as it can get pretty busy. The atmosphere in this restaurant is surprisingly relaxed, while you can still see all the guests rushing back and forth from ride to ride.
Cafe Orleans Menu
You can enjoy various New Orleans style dishes here at Cafe Orleans. When dining at Cafe Orleans you have the choice of a few different starters including: French Onion Soup, New Orleans Gumbo, Pommes Frites (French fries with Parmesan cheese, garlic, and parsley), and La Salade de Maison. Cafe Orleans is really known for their French Onion Soup.
Your entrees will consist of: Cafe Orleans Salmon Sandwich, Monte Cristo Sandwich , Three-Cheese Monte Cristo, Mardi Gras Chicken Sandwich, N’awlins Vegetable Ragout, “Crescent City” Salad. Like the Blue Bayou’s lunch, Cafe Orleans is
well known for the Monte Cristo sandwich. The sandwich includes swiss cheese, sliced turkey and ham, fried in a light batter and served with Berry Puree dusted with Powdered Sugar. The Three-Cheese version replaces the turkey and ham with mozzarella and Double Crème Brie. Other menu options include freshly made crepes, both as entrees and dessert options. Dessert also includes another New Orleans classic, beignets.
You will find Cafe Orleans to be a nice spot to dine in. With the current Princess and the Frog overlay, your kids will also find that Cafe Orleans is a good spot to eat in. I would just make sure the menu fits the type of food you want, but I would say this for anywhere you will think of dining.
While the menu seems limited for my palate, my wife tends to really like the Monte Cristo sandwich. I wish there was more on the menu that I would eat. I have eaten here at Cafe Orleans a few times, but with the limited menu I really can’t see myself dining here often. I’m just glad Disney gives you a ton of different dining options that really work for everyone.
