Disney Vacation Club – Why I purchased
Deciding to purchase the Disney Vacation Club was an easy decision for me. I had a love of Disney while growing up, and when I lived in Los Angeles I had season passes to Disneyland for more than 10 years. As I now live in New Mexico, I really missed my time going to the happiest place on earth. I started looking at hotel options for Disney World. While I was a regular at Disneyland, I had been to Disney World a few times so I had some hotel experience.
So, having stayed at a few value resorts, All Star Sports and All Star Music, I wanted a new experience. I tried out Port Orleans Riverside, and while nice, I didn’t feel it was worth the extra cost over the value resort. It just didn’t bring enough to the table to warrant me to continue staying in my opinion.
So, being at the World, we visited the Contemporary Hotel. I found the hotel what I wanted: on the monorail, not spread out like a lot of the other hotels, and close to Magic Kingdom. The monorail was a very important thing, as with young kids the stroller comes on and off easily, plus the quick transportation to many resorts where we could eat and shop. Walking distance to Magic Kingdom was important as well since we have young kids, plus it’s an easy hop for a Dole Whip.

So, back home after a good trip, I checked out the Disney Vacation Club website and decided right then to buy. I called and was assigned a Disney Vacation Club rep. He was very helpful and within a day I purchased.
After a few trips to California, we realized we missed Disneyland and have purchased Disney Vacation Club points at the Grand Californian hotel. Something I won’t regret.
