Disney Vacation Club – Point Rental

When looking to go to Disney World or Disneyland with your family, you may want a bigger room with a kitchen. The Disney Vacation Club suites may be a great option for your family due to the size; however they can be very expensive. A Disney Vacation Club point’s rental will let you stay is one of these suites for much less.

How does it work? When a Disney Vacation Club member will not end up using their annual allotment of points, they may put them up for rent. They will either set them up for rent directly or through a service. You would tell the member Old Key West Pool 300x200 Disney Vacation Club – Point Rentalwhen you are looking to go, where you would like to stay, and how big of a room you would want. They would then see what is available and how much it would be. Once you paid the Disney Vacation Club member in full, they would book the room for you.

Renting the points will vary in cost. You will find people that will charge various numbers per point – right now the average is $13 per point. You will get some of the same perks as if you were booking the room yourself; Magical Express, Disney Dining Plans, etc.

Housekeeping will be limited when staying on points – the Trash and Towel service is included after four nights. If staying less than eight nights, Trash & Towel service is received on day four. If staying eight nights or longer, a full cleaning service will happen on day four and Trash & Towel service will happen on the eighth day. The cycle will then begin again on day twelve. You can pay for Daily housekeeping and it can be arranged and paid for at check-in.

Once you book a vacation this way and pay it to the seller, there are no cancellations. Make sure you do buy trip insurance to protect yourself if something happens.

My biggest tip is to make sure your going through someone reputable or that you know. Once you contact them, make sure you have a good contract. Since you will have no contact with member services, you can’t verify they made the reservation.
