PALO ON THE DISNEY DREAM

Palo

If you are a person who loves sightseeing, then Palo is the restaurant for you. Palo is built atop the Disney Cruise Line ships, allowing guests to benefit from a unique 270-degree panoramic view of the ocean. It is an ideal restaurant for a romantic dinner, as it has an age restriction of 18 and up. But be warned, a reservation is required beforehand if you want to enjoy Palo’s great dining atmosphere. Reservations are required and can be set up in advance based on your Castaway Club cruise level. Meaning how many times you’ve cruised with Disney before and what level you are considered. All guests can reserve their meals up to 75 days in advance, but Silver, Gold, and Platinum Castaway Club members as well as guests who’ve booked under other special occasions can all book prior to the 75 days at different times for each level.

The dress code is noted in the Personal Navigator newsletter, as well as on the Palo reservation card that you receive and on an entrance sign near the elevator towards the restaurant. The

dress code at Palo is similar to any other high end Disney restaurant: you will not be admitted inside if you wear shorts, flip flops, jeans or t-shirts. Gentlemen are advised to wear a dress shirt and they may also opt for a tuxedo jacket and a tie; however, these latter elements are not required. Ladies can wear a cocktail dress or a combination of suit pants and a blouse if they feel that this fits them better.

The name of the restaurant derives from long Venetian poles used by gondoliers and this is not the only Italian influence that the restaurant has. To be more specific, the cuisine at Palo is fully inspired by the Northern Italian region. As you admire the ocean view during your dinner you can enjoy soothing melodies. Another unique aspect of Palo is that you can dine on an outside deck, especially if you want to feel the warm breeze of the ocean. Meridian, the exclusive lounge of Palo, allows you to spend your evening watching the sunset over the ocean, whether accompanied by someone special or solo.

Palo Menu

Regarding menu items, the best way to open the evening is to taste a dish of Palo’s cold Antipasti Specialties, which contain prosciutto, bresaola, parmesan reggiano, marinated olives, sun-dried tomatoes, everything being served with the unique Palo’s Dips and Olive Oil. On to the next course, I can recommend you Rombo al Finocchio, a delicious plate of pan seared turbot on fingerling potatoes, porcini, pancetta and fennel, garnished with delicious and creamy walnut butter.

The dinner at Palo is available with any type of cruise that you have on a Disney Cruise Line ship, but there are other special servings in which you can take part. If your cruise is longer than 4 nights you can take a Brunch at Palo, which is a delicious gourmet feast where you can buy a glass of fine champagne or mimosa along with the wide selection of fresh food. If you’re on the Disney Magic and your cruise is longer than 7 nights you can also enjoy the High Tea, which allows you to taste the finest teas along with delicious cakes. For additional cost there is a multitude of special beverages other than teas that are also available.
