When going to Disney World and staying on property you  have the option of buying a package which is called a Magic Your Way Vacation Package, this package includes the Disney Dining Plan. When using the Disney Dining Plan you will find that it is good and most of the restaurants located within Disney World

How does the Disney Dining Plan work?

The Disney Dining Plan is a points system. You get the plan based on the number of nights you will be staying on property. Depending on the plan you choose you will get Snack Points, Quick Service Points, and Table Service Points. When you sit down at any restaurant the server will ask if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, you show them your key to the world card, and they keep the card until the end of the meal. At the end of the meal you are given a receipt, the Disney Dining Plan doesn’t include tips so do make sure to leave one, and it shows how many points you have left.

Quick-Service Dining Plan Details

The Quick Service Disney Dining Plan includes two Quick Service meals and one Snack per person per night of stay. This plan also includes one refillable drink mug per person in the party. This mug is good for unlimited free refills during the stay. The Quick Service Disney Dining Plan does not include any table service meals.

Standard Dining Plan Details

The Standard Disney Dining Plan is more expensive that the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan since it includes table service meals. This plan includes one Quick Service Meal, one Snack, and on Table Service meal per night of your stay per person. This plan also includes the refillable drink mug. The table service meals for Lunch and Dinner include your entree and a dessert, no appetizer.

Deluxe Dining Plan

The Deluxe Disney Dining Plan gives you a lot more  points as well as the refillable drink mug. You get 3 table service meals and two snacks per person per day. With this plan the only time you will run out of points is when you dine at Signature restaurants or go to Dinner shows. You will also find that the meals on the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan include an Appetizer, an Entree, and a Dessert.

These plans listed here can be used by Disney Vacation Club members as well. You will find that there are two types of Disney Dining Plan that they don’t have access to.

 Premium Dining Plan

The Premium Disney Dining Plan is like the Deluxe yet it includes the following; Unlimited use of selected recreation, including golf, guided fishing excursions, water sports etc., Admission to Cirque du Soleil La Nouba, a Portrait session and print package from Disney Photopass Professional Portraits service, Unlimited admission to Disney’s Children’s Activity Centers, Unlimited Admission to a number of Theme Park tours(including the popular Keys to the Kingdom, Simply Segway Experience, and more), Admission to Grand Gathering Experiences, if you have eight or more in your party, and lastly Access to Preferred Viewing Areas for Wishes and Illuminations with some restrictions that apply.

 Platinum Dining Plan

With the Platinum Disney Dining Plan you get all the perks of the Premium Dining Plan with the following perks; a Pre-arrival planning service, a Specialty fireworks cruise, a Reserved seating at Fantasmic!, Selected spa treatment per guest (age restrictions apply), and the Additional dining options such as Victoria & Albert’s restaurant, room service, and more.

 Disney Dining Plan Exclusions

The following items aren’t included within the Disney Dining Plan; Alcohol, Multi Serving Items (Boxes of Donuts, etc), Rental Items, and Merchandise. Generally when you visit a snack location it will have a symbol that lets you know it is available. Some special dining events aren’t included in the plan as well.

 Prix Fixe Menus

You will find that a lot of restaurants on the Disney Dining Plan have a Prix Fixe Menu. The Prix Fixe menu, pronounced prefix, is a collection of; an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. So, depending on your Disney Dining Plan you may need to pay extra to order this type of item from the Menu.

 Cancellations

You will find when you book in a Character or Signature restaurants you will have to leave a credit card. Should you no show they will now charge a fee. The fee runs $10 per person and you need to cancel more than 48 hours in advance.

 Dinner Shows & Signature Restaurants

Both the dinner shows and the Signature restaurants will take two points per meal. The Dinner Show points tend to be for Category two and three seating and sometimes only for the later shows.  So, should you want to dine at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, or Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show be prepared to use this many points.

Pizza Delivery to your room will also cost two points per person.
