As I’ve heard it a man from Arkansas, name Jennings Osborne, loved the holidays. In the mid 80′s he asked one of his daughters what she wished for Christmas. She responded with having the house covered in lights. When he did that he covered the house with about 1000 lights. Each year he did more, even buying other property around his house. “I added more lights each year,” says Osborne. “And I just kept adding. I’m always chasing a dream.”
The display grew to be millions of lights. So many that the display had people coming from all over Arkansas. This resulted in so much traffic that the residents pursued legal action to stop it. The display was moved to Disney World later on.
When you do the Disneyworld holiday events at Disney World, the light show at Hoolywood Studio’s will amaze your whole family. Its really incredible to think that all of the lights graced the tops of homes. The scope of the undertaking of one man giving his daughter a Christmas present she will never forget is heart warming in the least.
