Halloween Carnival at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree

If you’re planning to visit Disneyland this Halloween season, from September 14th – October 31st to be specific, but can’t go to Mickey’s Halloween party…you’re in for a treat! Included in the price of admission, you can enjoy the Halloween Carnival at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree; times vary, so check your park map for correct info.  This event is only happening during park hours and will not be taking place during Mickey’s Halloween Party at night (a separately ticketed event).

The Halloween Carnival is being held behind the ranch and the BBQ restaurant, so both will still be open. Among the activities taking place at the carnival there is a unique venue for villain meet and greets at the Magic Cauldron Sideshow where guests enter a tent and one lucky guest gets to cast a spell summoning a mystery villain into the tent with you. Different villains can appear so you will want to visit more than once. This is also the only place during regular park hours where you can meet the villains.

Getting in the true spirit of carnivals, Disney’s Halloween Carnival at the Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree also includes carnival games like a Halloween themed ring toss and the Crystal Ball Fortune Wheel, as well as pumpkin carvers creating their masterpieces with this season’s favorite symbol. There is also a craft station where Halloween masks can be decorated and a Mask Parade with Mickey and his friends who you’ll get to see in their Halloween costumes. For those fans of Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, they’re here too; performing 6 times a day with Halloween-style songs as Billy Hill and the Haunted Hillbillies.  If you’ve never seen them before, they’re a lot of fun to watch and if they stick with their usual performance style, they’ll get the kids to join in…always fun for us parents to see. Special Halloween merchandise and treats are also available in this area.

This sounds like something my family and I would love to experience!  Halloween is my favorite holiday and Halloween done by Disney is just the best thing ever, especially when they include it in the price of admission.
